The injured roller is free again
One of our project coordinators found an injured roller near Görbeháza (Hungary) at the beginning of May.
Before setting free.
The bird was admitted to the Bird Hospital Hortobagy, where the experts identified a broken wing bone. The broken bone was secured, and the bird was kept in a safe enclosure. The bird was released on the 30th of June, after 6 weeks care. It flew with ease, and for better future monitoring it received a colour ring too.
Coloured ring ont he right leg.
We would like to thank everyone involved in the healing and releasing of this roller.
The bird was released by Anna Nagygyőry, an enthusiastic volunteer of both BirdLife Hungary and the Hortobagy Bird Hospital. (Photos: Zoltán Görögh).
